He began his career as a part of a standup comedy act with his brother Maury. He was the straight man for the Rat Pack performances in Las Vegas in the 1960s, and also wrote much of the material they performed on stage. With the death of Frank Sinatra on May 14, 1998, he is now the last surviving member of the Rat Pack.

Joey Bishop, the deadpan comedian, TV host and last of the super-hip team of performers known as the Rat Pack, led by Frank Sinatra, has died at age 89, his publicist said on Thursday.
