Chestnut ate 54 hotdogs to win the most prestigious hot dog eating contest in the world.
This is the fourth time in a row that Chestnut has won the competition after defeating his Japanese rival Takeru Kobayashi the three previous years. Kobayashi won six years in a row before Chestnut exerted his dominance on the 4th of July.
This year, Kobayashi declined to compete in the competition, perhaps allowing Chestnut to win with fewer hot dogs downed. While Chestnut ate 54 hotdogs this year, he defeated Kobayashi in 2009 by eating a record 68 hotdogs in 10 minutes.
