John Harris (born 1962) is the chief of staff for Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich. Both were arrested on corruption charges stemming from accusations they were "auctioning off" Barack Obama's vacant senate seat.

Federal prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald has been appointed to prosecute Rod Blagojevich   and his Chief of Staff John Harris . The FBI alleges Illinois governor Blagojevich used his position to try and auction off Barack Obama's vacant senate seat to the highest bidder. In a press conference Tuesday morning, Fitzgerald said Blagojevich's "conduct would make Lincoln roll over in his grave." Fitzgerald went on to quote sections in the FBI-released affidavit that describe Blagojevich's wire tapped phone conversations where he is heard trying to leverage the senate appointment into something valuable to him.
