(Getty Images) John Hughes , writer and director of such Hollywood classics as The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles has died in New York City of a heart attack according to TMZ.com . Hughes, 59, was reportedly taking a morning walk while visiting family. No more details are yet known. Hughes had not directed a movie since the 1991 film Curly Sue , though he continued to write, credited as Edmond Dantes on Drillbit Taylor and Maid in Manhattan .
