Who was on Frasier? John Mahoney played the role of the elder Martin “Marty” Crane, the father of Kelsey Grammer in the series Frasier.

For the role, he has received numerous Emmy and Golden Globe nominations but while in Cheers, he played an inept jingle writer and even had a conversation with Frasier Crane at the bar, whose father would be the role he would later play. He also would reunite with Frasier co-stars in an episode of the Simpsons where he voiced Dr Robert Terwilliger Sr and Sideshow Bob and Cecil were voiced by Kelsey Grammer and David Hyde Pierce respectively.
