Police are trying to determine whether criminal charges should be brought against Johns Hopkins University undergraduate John Pontolillo after he killed an intruder attempting to rob his home with a samurai sword. Donald D. Rice, a 49-year-old repeat offender released from jail on Saturday, entered Pontolillo's garage just after midnight.
