This guy has been putting it together under Smart... He has played about 80 minutes combined in his last two games, to go with 6 threes, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals... The most important thing is that the Kings WON both of these games with Salmons playing 40 at both wing spots.
I can't help but think that he is a "must roster" in standard leagues. He has always been a decent fantasy play until this season. I think that is about to turn around. What do you think?Read Full Story
Who do you want your offense to run through with the game on the line? Counting down from 30th to 1st (one per team), I’ve ranked the League’s go-to guys…
JOHN SALMONS, Milwaukee Bucks
For the most part, NBA teams will do one of two things when it’s high-pressure time to get a bucket: (1) High screen-and-roll with their best playmaker and their best big man, (2) Iso for their best 1-on-1 scorer. Or, if you’re the Spurs, you might run an actual play that requires more than two guys to move...Read Full Story
Milwaukee ain’t playing around. After a surprise run to the playoffs last season, GM John Hammond must have decided this team couldn’t score, because he’s making moves all over the place to bolster the offense. Recently he’s added Corey Maggette and Chris Douglas-Roberts via trade, and earlier today, Drew Gooden agreed to a 5-year, $32 million deal with the Bucks.
Now it apparently won’t be long until late-season hero John Salmons is on his way back to Milwaukee. The 6-7 swingman is very...Read Full Story
Have you seen what the Bucks have done over their last 12 games? Me neither, but apparently they have won 11 of 12 and now find themselves the fifth seed in the Eastern conference.
How are they doing it?
Well, four players in particular are playing extremely well over that span: John Salmons, Brandon Jennings, Carlos Delfino and Andrew Bogut.
Here are their numbers over the last five games:

After watching the Kings earlier this evening and then speaking with my colleague, Jason Jones, who was forced to endure the team's miserable effort against the Philadelphia 76ers, I felt compelled to check the updated stats. The numbers just get worse. The Kings assist totals are simply horrific: In 10 games, they are averaging 14.4 assists to the opposition's 25.2 - a differential of 10.8, by far the worst in the league. So, again, I will revisit my initial reservation about the 2011-12...Read Full Story
Salmons came in hot, hitting double figures in scoring in three straight, but couldn't get it going tonight. We've gotten a lot of questions about whether to pick him up or not, but given the fact that Tyreke Evans, Marcus Thornton and DeMarcus Cousins all ...
Kings forward John Salmons talks about where the Kings must improve from their first two losses to the Portland Trail Blazers and other topics following Wednesday's practice. Guard Tyreke Evans discusses taking on a leadership role.
Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee reports that Marcus Thornton, who left the Sacramento Kings' blowout loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday, will miss the team's Monday game against the Portland Trail Blazers. Thornton had missed three games with a thigh contusion, but returned roughly a week ago. On Friday against the San Antonio Spurs, Thornton reaggravated the injury. He was able to stay in the game and tried to go on...
G John Salmons seems to have rediscovered his touch. Shooting a career-low 32 percent entering the week, Salmons had big shots late to beat Portland on Thursday and the Warriors on Saturday. He had 15 points and a season-high six assists.
Salmons figures to slide right back into his starting small forward spot and will see some extra shots/minutes with Marcus Thornton (quad) out. However, the problem is Salmons' eroding skill set. He's averaging just 7.6 points in 28.7 minutes this season ...
