Report: Bears offer OT John St. Clair a Contract

From:  bearsbacker.com
Today the Bears made a contract offer to offensive tackle John St. Clair. Financial terms discussed were not disclosed. John St. Clair would like a five-year deal, I'm sure he would settle for the three-year deal the Bears are believed to have offered. St. Clair had this to say on Monday: "It's great to have dialogue, I don't want to get into whether [the offer] was good or not good. I'll let my agent [Ben Dogra] handle the contract negotiations. Browns Visiting w/ Former Bears OT John St. Clair

From:  brownsgab.com
Reports say that the Browns are visiting today with former Bears offensive tackle John St. Clair. Reports say that the Bears though would like St. Clair back, and that Bears G.M. Jerry Angelo has offered St. Clair a three-year, $4.5 million deal. So it seems like the Browns would have to up that offer if they want St. Clair’s services. Read Full Story

NFL Free Agency: Browns Ink Veteran John St. Clair to Three-Year Deal

With the future of Ryan Tucker still in limbo and Kevin Shaffer having been released , the Cleveland Browns have added veteran offensive lineman John St. Clair.  Flashy he is not, but the front office was quick to point out his much-lauded versatility with their press release. Playing for the Chicago Bears last season, St. Clair suited up for all 16 games; undoubtedly a plus with a team that seems to get obliterated by injuries every season.  An even bigger plus is the fact that he... John St. Clair Expected to sign by Friday

From:  bearsbacker.com
Chicago Sun-Times writer answered questions in his entry called Four Down Territory: Question: Do they have any offensive linemen other than John St. Clair anywhere on their radar? Answer: "I don't know of any other offensive linemen on the team's radar other than St. Clair. I would expect a resolution on his situation by the end of the week. As I wrote last week, it makes too much sense for this re-signing not to happen. The Bears need St. Clair and this would likely provide him with the... Read Full Story

John St. Clair signs with Cleveland

The Chicago Bears had very little depth at offensive tackle so it seemed likely that they would re-sign unrestricted free-agent John St. Clair, who started at left tackle for the Bears in 2008. Instead, St. Clair agreed to a 3-year deal with the Cleveland Browns worth $9 million with $1.25 million guaranteed. The Bears are believed to have offered a 3-year, $4.5 million deal to St. Clair. If the Bears signed St. Clair, he was expected to start at right tackle. Chris Williams, the Bears... Read Full Story
