Reggie Wayne and Peyton Manning want to keep playing this season. Or at least this week. Apparently, Jim Caldwell has heard their pleas. On Monday, the first-year coach walked into his regular news conference and announced Indy's "healthy" starters would play Thursday night at Jacksonville.  

Pro Bowl defensive ends Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis have missed the Indianapolis Colts' practice, making them uncertain for Thursday's game at Jacksonville. Colts coach Jim Caldwell has said his "healthy" starters will play. But Freeney (abdomen) and Mathis (quadriceps) were among a half-dozen players who missed Tuesday's practice after playing Sunday.  

Forgive the Indianapolis Colts if they feel like they've lived through this movie before. Yes, they were undefeated in December 2005, and, yes, they have clinched division titles and home-field advantage with several weeks left in the regular season. Former Playboy Playmate Kendra Wilkinson and her NFL husband Hank Baskett are the new parents of a baby boy. Kira Costello, Wilkinson's publicist, says Hank Randall Baskett IV was delivered Friday in Indianapolis, where his father is a wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts. He weighed in at 9 pounds, 5 ounces.  

Colts president Bill Polian is just an old-school scout at heart. He willingly attends college games, enjoys interviewing players and coaches and spends countless hours studying film to evaluate college prospects. He prefers being involved to delegating, and he still believes NFL winners are built through the draft.
