A homeschooled 12-year-old girl has won a Baltimore spelling bee and will now go on to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in May.
Abby Pepin made it through 27 rounds of competition to win the 8th Annual Baltimore Spelling Bee on Saturday.
She won by correctly spelling the word “peccadillo.”
Abby beat 52 other students from around the Baltimore area during a competition held at Stephens Hall on the campus of Towson University.
