At the beginning of this season I am sure many people waited till the later rounds to pick up Joseph Addai , if at all. Set to be the starting running back for one of the most prolific offenses in the NFL he would seem to be an obvious early round choice. However, many analysts and experts were convinced that rookie Donald Brown would be taking over that role sooner rather than later, and with good reason. Addai had become the first rookie to rush for over 1000 yards in 2006; cracked 1000 again after Dominic Rhodes departed for Oakland in 2007, but had ... Read Full Story

Adam Vinatieri’s availability for training camp is in question after he underwent surgery on his right hip earlier this week. The Indianapolis Colts are confident, however, that their veteran place-kicker will be ready for the regular season. Vinatieri, 36, opted for surgery to relieve discomfort in his right hip that had bothered him for more than a year. The procedure was performed in Vail, Colo., by Dr. Marc Phillipon , who recently operated on the hip of New York Yankees superstar Alex Rodriquez. The prognosis is for Vinatieri to be ready for the Colts’ Sept. 13 opener against Jacksonville. “I don’t have any reservations based ... Read Full Story

The Bills have been worried about who is going to run the football when starting RB Marshawn Lynch would be sitting out the first three games with a suspension, and on Saturday, they may have found their man. The team has come to terms on a two-year deal with running back Dominic Rhodes. The eight-year vet easily can carry the load for Lynch, as he has shown in the past that he can be very good in supporting roles. Rhodes became a free agent this offseason after spending last year with Indianapolis. The deal was announced Saturday and comes after Rhodes visited the Bills ... Read Full Story

Running back Dominic Rhodes has agreed to a two-year contract with the Buffalo Bills after spending last season with the Indianapolis Colts. The Bills announced the agreement Saturday. He gives Buffalo a dependable running back while Marshawn Lynch misses the first three regular-season games. The NFL suspended Lynch for violating its personal conduct policy. Rhodes spent seven of his eight seasons with Indianapolis and was a free agent after not being re-signed. He spent the 2007 season with Oakland and returned to the Colts last season, sharing starting duties with Joseph Addai. In 15 games, Rhodes had 538 yards rushing, including a team-leading six ... The Indianapolis Colts, once again showing their flawless execution, took the Denver Broncos’ best shot, yet the Broncos couldn’t capitalize on an early 10-0 first quarter lead. Some surprise reinforcements after a slew of injuries and some masterful ball control (the Colts scored on six of their last eight possessions) propelled the Colts to a 38-20 win over the Denver Broncos. Although the Broncos had an impressive rushing attack, led by running back Travis Henry (26 carries, 131 yards), they couldn’t capitalize. Denver, as previously noted, had an early 10-0 lead which looked even more imposing due to an injury to Colts wide receiver ... Read Full Story

via www.combinefreak.com Listen, I'm not going to make this some long, drawn out sobfest.  I'm just going to cut to the chase and be done with this argument once and for all. My feelings about Addai's production the past couple years has been well documented and I'm not about to try and hide from my comments or play coy about what I've said.  I stand by my comments and forever will because that's what I believed and how I felt at the...

Last season was a horrible failure for fantasy football owners with Joseph Addai . Injuries and poor play stripped away what could have been a second solid season in a row for the talented running back from LSU. For the 2008 season, Addai only averaged 3.5 yards per carry and totaled just 544 yards rushing for the season. Not only did Addai fail to produce on the ground, but he only scored seven touchdowns on the year. Because Addai was a...
