Josh Hamilton

Josh Hamilton has returned to MLB and is making a name for himself and it's a name the Tampa Bay Rays won't be forgetting any time soon.

Tampa made Hamilton the number one overall draft pick in 1999, taking him right out of high school. The then Devil Rays paid him nearly $4 million but he never played
a game for the organization as he failed to make the roster.

One might say that wasn't the only thing the outfielder failed. Shortly after this, he was suspended for three years for failing a drug test. Once reinstated, he was eligible for the MLB Rule 5 draft which sent him to the Reds where he spent one season before landing in Texas.

Yes Hamilton is making a name for himself. The Astros saw him hit a complete cycle which included two home runs and five RBI in a 16-8 win.

Hamilton was ejected from a game after arguing a balls and strikes call against the Indians. It didn't seem to phase him much though because the next day they would travel to Tampa as Hamilton would take on the team that drafted him.

He told the Dallas Morning News he was looking forward to seeing his old teammates from the minors, but he was looking forward to fishing more and to seeing his friends from the Winning Inning, a Christian baseball academy in Florida. The Rays took the first game of the series, but game two would be different.

Game two saw Hamilton hit a grand slam in the eight inning to seal up a Ranger victory. Josh, was the fishing more exciting than the homer?

Yeah, don't count on the Rays forgetting the name "Josh Hamilton" any time soon. In fact, his name might be heard a lot more often now, making it hard for anyone to forget. Don't be surprised if he ends up representing the Rangers in the All-Star Game.
