For the second straight offseason, Albert Pujols will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow. The St. Louis Cardinals say in a brief news release Tuesday that the two-time NL MVP will undergo a debridement procedure — which could be used to shave bone spurs — on Wednesday morning in Birmingham, Ala., at a medical facility under the direction of Dr. James Andrews. Slugger Albert Pujols says the St. Louis Cardinals are interested in extending his contract during the winter. Pujols told a Dominican radio station on Wednesday that he is in no rush to make a decision. He still has a year left on his contract for 2010 and a club option for 2011. Pujols signed a seven-year contract in 2003 worth $100 million, but says money is not a priority for his next contract. Well, that was quick. Two days ago we reported that St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa was suing Twitter for unspecified damages after he became aware of a Twitter user cybersquatting on the @tonylarussa name. According to the St. Louis Post Dispatch , the two sides have come to an agreement and settled. Twitter will most likely pay damages in the form of La Russa’s legal fees, and perhaps make a donation to the baseball manager’s charity and animal shelter, the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF).
