St. Louis Cardinals Merchandise Ranks among the Best Sellers in Online Sports Store

By Pokala on  From sports-accessories.blogspot.com
When a team has as much sustained success in a decade as the St. Louis Cardinals have this past decade , you can expect the fans to reciprocate by snapping up any and every piece of team merchandise they can get their hands on. Though they’ve won only that one World Series Championship in 2006 , they did come close twice, and have consistently won the National League Central Division, and even posting several 100 win regular seasons. And of course, let us not forget their deep push into the...Read Full Story

Remember Mark Mulder?

By sooze on  From babeslovebaseball.com
You may or may not have completely forgotten about St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Mark Mulder , who had rotator cuff surgery last September, just in time to miss the World Series. Mulder will rejoin the Cards' rotation for the first time this Wednesday, now just in time for the road to the post season. In 2005, the lefty won 16 games in his debut season with St. Louis, arming their starting rotation with the 1-2 punch of himself and Chris Carpenter . Spending 85 days on the 15-day DL and going 6...Read Full Story

Cardinals set for 7 full seasons with Holliday

 From ap.org
Tony La Russa believes the St. Louis Cardinals could have won the National League Central without Matt Holliday last year. He concedes the finish likely would have been a lot tighter. "I'd like to think I helped the team win a few games," Holliday said Monday. The Cardinals really took off after acquiring Holliday from the Athletics not long after the All-Star break, pulling away with a 20-6 record in August. Holliday batted .353 with 55 RBIs in 63 games, production that helped him land a...Read Full Story

Twitter’s Great, But Let’s Slow Down Just a Little Bit

By Leshinski on  From tedleshinski.blogspot.com
I admit it. I’m one of the millions of sports industry professionals who’s jumped on the Twitter bandwagon with both feet. In a previous blog post, I gushed over the unique reach Twitter offers sports PR and marketing pros and went on about the fabulous new ways athletes and sports organizations can connect with fans thanks to the new micro blog. Not that I still don’t recognize and appreciate the immense impact of Twitter, but a couple of recent events in the world of sports, involving...Read Full Story

Twitter denies settling baseball manager's lawsuit

 From afp.com
Twitter has denied settling a lawsuit with Tony La Russa over the impersonation of the St. Louis Cardinals manager on the micro-blogging service. La Russa told reporters on Friday that San Francisco-based Twitter had agreed to pay his legal fees and make a donation to his animal shelter, the Animal Rescue Foundation. But Biz Stone, a co-founder of Twitter, said in a blog post over the weekend it was not true. "Twitter has not settled, nor do we plan to settle or pay," he wrote. La Russa sued...Read Full Story

Remember Marky Mark?

By sooze on  From babeslovebaseball.com
Remember when Mark Mulder was awesome? The St. Louis Cardinals lefty returned to the mound Monday night, not to start (Lohse dominated that position) but to finish. And after two shoulder surgeries, maybe he's just lucky to be back on the hill. Mulder, 30, made his first career relief appearance, doubling as his season debut against the New York Mets , serving up a scoreless ninth in his team's 7-1 victory. He allowed two hits before getting Jose Reyes to fly out to end the game. Welcome back...Read Full Story

A Possible Return Of Barry Bonds?

By oriolepost on  From oriolepost.blogspot.com
Well, I presumed that Barry Bonds might have a new home based on his 2007 season; however, as it is right now, he's without a baseball home and seemingly unemployable due to his drug issues and federal indictment. However, there's one team that may have interest in the beleaguered slugger -- yes, the Tampa Bay Rays. The Tampa Bay Rays have recently done what the St. Louis Cardinals did a while back: have internal discussions about the prospect of pursuing Barry Bonds. Manager Joe Maddon said...Read Full Story
