How is it that one of the best wide receivers in NFL history, Marvin Harrison, has gone through the whole 2009 NFL season and has not been signed to a team? Harrison is currently a 37-year-old free agent, but still can play. I believe. Harrison was originally selected 19th in the 1996 NFL Draft by the Colts, who he would play for his whole career as of now.  As a member of the Colts, Harrison had some great years, along with then teammates...

Though no one knew it at the time, that injury was to lead to the end of Harrison’s career. In typical Colts fashion, little was released about the severity of Harrison’s injury or when he would return. One week after another the fans were told it would be soon, that he’s coming...

On Mark Sanchez… It’s a little bit of rookie mistakes.  Sometimes you try to do a little bit too much, but what they do a good job of is of late they try to have the running game be the primary focus.  They’ll run the ball, run the ball, run the ball and when they have [...]

I know it's an absurd statistic, but does anyone have any data or anything on how often the Colts blitzed under the Ron Meeks defense? I was arguing with a buddy who thinks the Chargers have the Colts number this year, and pointed out some stuff in the previous two losses. He pointed out that the Chargers beat Indy without Rivers or Tomlinson. I countered that it was because Freeney and (I think) Mathis were out, and mentioned how Meeks never...

VTF: Austin Collie Update BYU's all-time greatest wide receiver, Austin Collie, was drafted 127th overall last April. The Indianapolis Colts selected him in the 4th round after 19 other receivers had been picked. The Colts drafted Collie after releasing 36 year-old All-Pro Marvin Harrison. Harrison had accounted for over 600 yards receiving in 2008 and the Colts' rookie wideout Pierre Garcon had only made 4 catches all last season...

Before I get to this week's post, I'd like to clear up something from last week that I didn't get to address in the comments because I was out of town all weekend.  When I said that I was thankful that Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis don't rotate in and out like most other linemen, that was overstatement.  They do rotate in and out like most other linemen, but they don't rotate nearly as much as other linemen and they burn a lot more energy...
