LisaRaye or Juanita Bynum? You Make the Call

Mo'Kelly's been emailing back and forth with an old girlfriend...in fact it was his first girlfriend in college. No, not like that...get your minds out of the gutter.
She's actually the only ex Mo'Kelly's EVER been active friends with after the fact and she will be the first to admit that it took arguably decades to become the friends we are today.
I mention her because she's been imploring Mo'Kelly to write something "hysterical" about the ever-changing saga surrounding Lisa Raye and her estranged husband. You know, it would've been filled to the brim with the obligatory oblique references to "Diamond" and The Players Club. Or better yet, equally tasteless and comical prison jokes, underhandedly making mention of Civil Brand or clown LisaRaye for the "irony" of now starring in the forthcoming movie, The Black Man's Guide to Understanding The Black Woman.
Yes, the jokes would have been VERY easy and VERY funny. It was a metaphorical fastball out over the middle of the plate, and Mo'Kelly Bonds and would have put all of his steroid cream strength into his swing to send it out into McCovey Cove.

At the beginning of this sordid affair, it was just that...hysterical. The events/incidents were happening so fast, there wasn't time enough to keep up with them, let alone write some drawn out humor-laden editorial. As Mo'Kelly told his ex, the post would've been dated and worthless by the time the sun dipped below the horizon.
New day, new drama. It takes time for Mo'Kelly to churn this stuff out. This is a one-Mo'Kelly operation.
But then, this story took a sudden turn in an altogether different direction. Usually Mo'Kelly will take painstaking steps to lay out a story and all the incidents leading up to the present.
Not this time.
When the incidents begin to allegedly include domestic violence against women...the jokes stop. Mo'Kelly doesn't find domestic violence funny.
Everything prior to now is largely irrelevant in terms of this post. The "latest" (and Mo'Kelly uses the word "latest" knowing full well that by the time the sun either appears or disappears again beyond the horizon that the story might have changed again), but "the latest" is connected to photos of alleged abuse of Lisa Raye that have appeared on Essence Magazine's website.
Black folks ate it up like hungry crackheads.

Slow your roll everyone. Haven't we been here before? Doesn't anyone recognize the wallpaper? Essence...? Alleged domestic violence? Unsubstantiated photos sent all around the net?
Yes, let's say it together now...Juanita Bynum.
Mo'Kelly is not saying that LisaRaye has not been abused. In fact, Mo'Kelly believes everything she's alleged thus far. Mo'Kelly is just saying to everyone else...slow your roll and take an unemotional step back and look at this situation more broadly.
From here, Mo'Kelly is only going to ask some questions...some legitimate, rational and reasonable questions. You as readers provide the answers at your leisure. Think before you answer. Remember, Mo'Kelly is on LisaRaye's side...but Mo'Kelly still has some questions. Let's see if we all arrive at the same conclusion when all is said and done.
Now Mo'Kelly doesn't "know" Lisa Raye personally, although we've met and conversed on multiple occasions. To this day Mo'Kelly has an autographed photo of her...signed "to Morris, her favorite Que" hanging in his home office. Might she specifically remember Mo'Kelly?
Probably not.
Nevertheless, she's always been exceptionally nice to Mo'Kelly. Mo'Kelly has always been fond of LisaRaye as a person. But Mo'Kelly would never allege to "know" her or how she handles herself in relationship situations.
That said...here are the questions. They are somewhat rhetorical, somewhat cynical yet altogether legitimate in nature.
* In issues of domestic violence, since when did photos become more appropriate to post online courtesy of Essence.com and not attached to a police report? An "abused" woman turns up on Essence.com but not thesmokinggun.com with a 10-page police report? Where have we seen this "story" before and why have we NOT seen a police report?

* LisaRaye's publicist Lynn Allen Jeter is also someone Mo'Kelly's dealt with professionally for many, many years. Question though...since when is a publicist the "correct" person to detail how your "client" has been abused by her estranged husband, and not the local Turks and Caicos Islands district attorney? Maybe the "Premier" controls all the prosecutors and police, but if that's the case, just how formidable is an aging pissed-off publicist against that? Is this LisaRaye's only line of defense?
* And speaking of said publicist, in LisaRaye's statement released to the press (courtesy of Lynn Allen Jeter)...she (Lisa Raye) indicated the following:
I ask that my privacy be respected in these difficult times and I believe that the people of the TCI will understand and support my wish to receive the necessary independent representation from the legal counsel of my choosing. I hope that, in time, the TCI government will come to share that view. Here's the question...why the need for a PRESS RELEASE (which is by definition is designed to generate press) to declare one's desire for privacy? Doesn't LisaRaye know that if she doesn't talk about it...we don't ask or write about it and her privacy remains intact? Also, doesn't LisaRaye know that if "privacy" is the goal, granting TELEVISION interviews (like the one below) is only slightly contradictory in nature?
* If "privacy" is the goal, why is said publicist also granting interviews like THIS one?
* If "privacy" is the goal, why in the world would you sell your photos to Essence magazine?
* If her estranged husband was accused of rape BEFORE these latest incidents, isn't it reasonable (and good sense) to assume that there might be a violence variable to be considered when dealing with this man hence forth?
* Lastly, why HASN'T LisaRaye reached out to The Mo'Kelly Report? Doesn't she know that Mo'Kelly will respect her "privacy" and grant as many interviews she wants in the process? Doesn't she know that Mo'Kelly could be hugely beneficial in her "private" battle she's waging in the media?
* Lynn Jeter, you do know how to reach Mo'Kelly and make this interview happen right?
