The Lions go to Seattle this weekend with one victory assured. That doesnt mean theyll beat the Seahawks at Qwest Field. The Lions are 10-point underdogs for good reasons -- one of them being their 15-game road losing streak. But general manager Martin Mayhews offseason trade with the Seahawks that brought strong-side linebacker Julian Peterson to Detroit was a clear-cut win for the Lions.

Peterson, a linebacker, was fined $7,500 for a hit on Vikings backup quarterback Tarvaris Jackson. Pettigrew, a tight end was fined $5,000 for a late hit on linebacker Chad Greenway.  

Returning to the locker room for exit interviews after spending the second half of the season on the injured reserve list working out in Florida, Seattle Seahawks offensive tackle Walter Jones said he still hasn't given up on his dream of playing again. "That's the goal," Jones said. "I think the last time I talked, I said I was going to do everything possible to get back, and I'm still on that roll to get back, and hopefully I can." However...  

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh is missing practice Tuesday to attend the funeral of former Cincinnati Bengals teammate Chris Henry. Seattle coach Jim Mora said Monday that Houshmandzadeh was on his way to Louisiana to attend the service and would return Tuesday night. Mora says Houshmandzadeh "was almost like a big brother" to Henry.  

Matt Hasselbeck is the most glib Seahawk. Yet even he can't describe his team's sorry state after losing to a one-win team this late in a season for the first time since Seattle's 1976 expansion year. Seahawks long snapper Kevin Houser is hoping to be out of the hospital in time for Christmas Eve after doctors re-inflated his collapsed lung. Seattle coach Jim Mora said the 32-year-old veteran of 10 seasons was sitting up in his hospital room Monday and watching "Ren and Stimpy" cartoons with his wife and kids.  

For the third time in three seasons, Seattle has brought in Jeff Robinson to be the Seahawks' long-snapper. Robinson was signed on Tuesday to replace Kevin Houser. Houser was placed on injured reserve after suffering a collapsed lung following the Seahawks 24-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.  

As the Green Bay Packers make their push toward the playoffs, they know a seemingly beatable team like the Seattle Seahawks can jump up and bite them. At least according to Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers it does. Rodgers accused Seattle Seahawks defensive end Darryl Tapp of biting him during the Packers' 27-17 victory over the Seahawks last season, an allegation Tapp steadfastly denies.
