Andre Ethier had his first three-homer game and drove in a career-high six runs to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to an 8-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Friday night. Ethier gave the Dodgers a 3-0 lead in the second, driving a 1-1 pitch from Jason Vargas to center field after Casey Blake led off with a double and James Loney singled. He made it 7-2 in the sixth with a drive into the right-field pavilion off Vargas (3-3). He capped his big night with a leadoff shot in the eighth off Miguel Batista for his 14th homer. I'm happy with the product overall--it's durable, looks nice, and has plenty of places to put things. It's about 11 inches tall and 15 inches long. It looks like the picture, but I expected more access the main pocket, and it's just a zipper on the top that doesn't zip down to the sides. My only complaint is that it's SLIMMER than I expected--about 4 inces for the main pocket (and 2 more inches for the smaller 10x13ish side pocket not shown). It gets full with two one-inch binders and the other stuff I have in it.It does hold a lot, but not "big" ... Read Full Story

The Boston Red Sox have activated shortstop Julio Lugo, who's been sidelined since suffering a knee injury in spring training. To make room for Lugo, the Red Sox announced Monday that right-hander Michael Bowden was being returned to Triple-A Pawtucket. Lugo was injured in a March 13 exhibition game against the New York Yankees. He underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee and was placed on the 15-day disabled list prior to the regular season.
