A guest performance on SNL is very often the first time I hear various pop artists’ new material– and this past episode’s Kanye West appearance was no exception. I had heard, of course, that he was doing something “different” on this new record, and it seemed to be a very divisive “different,” too, from what I could gather.
Marathonpacks pretty much summed up my reaction to it,
“On Saturday Night Live last night, Kanye looked like a guy who’d... Read Full Story

With much success since its release a few weeks ago, Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak album has inspired East coast sneaker customizer MACHE to design a special pair of Nike Air Force Ones. They take inspiratio from artwork on the alum cover, which includes art from Kaws as well. They feature a old skool plaid like upper along with a colorful back half, which pretty much matches the album cover down to the smallest details. Via SoleBlvd

I believe Kanye West is one of the most talented performers walking the planet presently. My brother periodically faces criticism for his attempts to feed his ego, though that sometimes gets translated into general criticism of his work or person. Nonetheless, fans are still very willing to spend many thousands of dollars to meet the sensitive musical genius, and why not, especially when the cause Mr. West supports is so laudable?
Art for Life Miami is a benefit hosted by the brothers... Read Full Story
Kanye West has a lot to be thankful for. His fourth album 808’s & Heartbreak which was released on 25th November 2008 is on pace to sell between 450-500,000 copies based on first-day estimates. That would make this Kanye’s third biggest debut of his career (following Graduation and Late Registration) and his third No. 1 album “808’s and heartbreak”. I had a listen to it even before it was released (thanks to World Wide Web). The first song of the album to hit the TV screens was the African... Read Full Story
Kanye West’s new album 808s & Hearbreak released not long ago and has enjoyed much success and the album cover art is definitely a great piece as well. MACHE an East Coast based sneaker customizer who has made a name for himself with a few inspired customs has done a great job on his latest. Taking inspiration from the album art, which features art from Kaws as well, he’s created a pair of customs that almost matches the cover exactly even down to the broken heart on Kanye’s suit. Via... Kevin Pereira from G4 and Attack of The Show has done a parody of Kanye West’s excessive use of pitch auto-correction. Kevin explains, “Pitch auto-correction and a simple beat can make anything chart-worthy; even a freestyle about guacamole and expired milk.” Reportedly, making the parody song "Kevye West: 808s & Expiration Dates (Guac Lockdown)" took fifteen minutes for the music, five minutes for the vocals, and the whole thing was created in GarageBand with standard built-in effects... I’m always up for a new/old/unreleased Kanye West track. Props to Confusion for copping this one for me.
“Gossip Files,” which has also been known as “Dream Killers,” sounds like a track from Kanye’s College Dropout sessions. “Gossip Files” has a sick beat, for sure, but why does Kanye sound like he has a bad cold?
Bad cold aside, I am really, really digging this track. Would have fit perfectly at the end of College Dropout . I think it would have... Read Full Story
