Kanye and Lady Gaga's 'Fame Kills' Tour Is DOA

(Bauer Griffin)more pics »Concert promoter Live Nation as abruptly announced today that Kanye West and Lady Gaga's much-hyped "Fame Kills" tour has been, uh, killed. This is despite reassurance from Live Nation as recently as yesterday that the tour was still very much on.

Fans hoping to see Kanye and Lady Gaga together on stage will have to wait.
In a brief statement posted to the tour's website, the company announced, "Live Nation announced today (October 1, 2009) that the Kanye West and Lady Gaga 'Fame Kills' tour has been canceled. Refunds are available at the point of purchase. Tickets purchased online and via phone will be refunded automatically."

No further reason has been given by Live Nation, or by Kanye or Lady Gaga. Of course, Kanye interrupting Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards could have played a part, as could his rapidly approaching court dates for scuffling with paparazzi. Not to mention more recent rumors that West may be checking himself into rehab.

The tour was scheduled to kick off in Phoenix, AR in November and continue on at least through January of next year.
