"Dancing With the Stars" pros Karina Smirnoff (kuh-REE'-nuh SMEER'-nahf) and Maksim Chmerkovskiy (MAKS'-ihm shmehr-KAWF'-skee) are no longer in step with one another. Susan Madore, a publicist who works on the ABC show, says the two professional dancers broke off their engagement over the weekend. Smirnoff and Chmerkovskiy will continue to appear on "Dancing With the Stars." Smirnoff is paired with Aaron Carter and Chmerkovskiy with Debi Mazar for the upcoming season, which premieres Sept. 21.
