Kate Moss has signed on to be the new face of Mango, a fashion retailer started in Barcelona in 1984 and relatively new to the States. Moss has signed on as the spokesperson for the company and will be rolling out ads shortly.
Moss joins the ranks of former Mango models
Scarlett Johansson and
Claudia Schiffer, and the British beauty was on full Mango display in London today to unveil their latest ad campaign.
A spokesperson for Mango is hopeful that modeling vet Moss will make Mango "an aspirational brand," adding, "Kate Moss was chosen as the image of Mango because she is a world-famous icon, making her one of the most sought-after models in the fashion world."
Moss is no stranger to lending her image to a clothing retailer, although hopefully her stint with Mango won't end the same way her H&M bid did. In 2005 Moss was dropped as their spokesperson after tabloids published photos of her openly doing cocaine. As a new wife and mother, Mango is confident they will not have to worry about a relapse of bad behavior.
