After winning the Heisman Trophy in 2008, Sam Bradford was the favorite to win in '09. An injury knocked his season off-course, but it helped give him a different perspective.

First, lets explain that headline. Sam Bradford is a great quarterback. After all,  they don't give Heisman Trophies to hacks, and with Bradford at the helm, Oklahoma does is as good as almost any team in college football. But without him, they are a 6-5 team. Even though injured quarterback Sam Bradford has announced he will forgo his senior season to enter the NFL draft, he will not be honored in Senior Day activities prior to today's 11:30 a.m. game against Oklahoma State.  

The 2009 season began with the potential to be a historic Heisman year. For the first time, two players -- Tim Tebow (2007 winner) and Sam Bradford (2008) -- entered the same season with a chance to win a second Heisman. And for the first time since 1946, the top three vote-getters from the previous season -- Bradford, Tebow and Colt McCoy -- all returned.
