Browse > MMA Videos / mma / Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker no longer in the Kimbo Slice business Props: Sherdog.com “We had an option to exercise Kimbo’s contract from Pro Elite. Basically out of all those fighters we took, he was the only one that we didn’t grab –- it was an option to take [Slice’s contract.] With that option, there was an expiration date on it. I have never seen a fight card so filled with unknowns and fighter shuffling. You just never knew who was going to walk out into the cage. In the end we did get to see MMA legends Ken Shamrock (27-13-2) and David “Tank” Abbott (10-14) break long losing streaks in unsatisfying sub-minute mismatches. This show was partially pleasing as we did get to see Ken and Tank in featured bouts of Friday night’s “Wargods: Valentine’s Eve Massacre” held at the Selland Arena in Fresno, Calif. Shamrock ended a five-fight losing streak that dated back to 2004, while Abbott broke a four-fight nose dive of ...

MMA legend Ken Shamrock was prepared for one final shot at glory. After winning just one bout since 2002, Shamrock's heavily publicized return against street-fighting legend Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson was to be the main event of this past weekend's "EliteXC: Heat." Instead, a laceration suffered on the day of the event forced Shamrock off of the card. Shamrock has not been available to MMAjunkie.com for comment since his medical disqualification, but the 44-year-old yesterday released an open letter on his official website, Ken Shamrock.com, in which he apologized for his unfortunate injury -- but also expressed his desire for EliteXC to schedule the ...
