Kendra Wilkinson – the Olive Garden-loving youngest ex-girlfriend of Hugh Hefner – is getting her own show. The former “Girls Next Door” star is in the process of moving out of the Playboy mansion – and at just 23 years old, Kendra has never lived on her own. Apparently she went straight from her parents’ house to Hugh Hefner’s house. What a huge jump.
Kendra is engaged to the Philadelphia Eagles’ Hank Baskett, but has decided to spend a little time living on her own before Baskett moves in and they get married. Something tells me a reality show would be just the right incentive to do that.
Kendra Wilkinson is getting her own reality show, E! announced Tuesday.
Working title Kendra — which has been picked up for eight episodes — will follow the 23-year-old as she moves out of the Playboy mansion, where she had 24/7 room service and a social secretary, and lives on her own for the first time.
The network says she’ll have to learn how to do laundry, cook, grocery shop and pay her own bills.
The show will also follow Wilkinson and her fiance, Philadelphia Eagles’ Hank Baskett (whom she’s marrying on June 27), on a road trip as she helps him move from New Mexico to California. Their on-camera growing pains include balancing her party-girl lifestyle with his conservative, religious mindset. (The pair pray every night before dinner.)
“Throughout the five highly successful seasons of the Girls Next Door, Kendra has developed a loyal fan-base with her outrageous personality and trademark laugh,” E!’s Lisa Berger said in a statement. “Now she’s faced with the reality of making it outside the gates of the Mansion and as Kendra’s fans are aware, you never know what she’s going to do next.”
Between wedding planning, Wilkinson will still find time to hang out with Hef, and Girls Next Door roommates Holly Madison and Bridget Marquardt. Playboy playmate pals Amber Campisi and Britney Binger will also make cameos.

The show is set to air this summer. I absolutely hate reality television. However, while I can’t explain why, I really like “The Girls Next Door,” and will probably watch Kendra’s show too. Maybe I’m just a sucker but it sounds semi-interesting, as far as that stuff goes. Honestly, I’d do it just to see a Playboy bunny pray before dinner. And there is something oddly charismatic about Kendra. She was always sort of lazy and often grumpy on her old show, and basically seemed like she was still a teenager. It’ll be interesting to see how that translates into a marriage relationship. I expect it to be more interesting than Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey on “The Newlyweds.” Oddly enough, somehow I have more faith in Kendra.
