Kenny Rogers pitches a win

Pitcher Kenny Rogers got the win on Sunday night.

The Belleville News-Democrat has a recap:

Rogers, a 41-year-old left-hander, fired a two-hitter over eight innings, walking three and striking out four. He was relieved in the ninth by Todd Jones, who registered the save despite surrendering an RBI double to Jim Edmonds.

"Our team needed to win today, and I know it was huge," said Rogers, who became the oldest starting pitcher to win a game in the World Series and the second-oldest overall.
