Frankie Is Somebody’s Mother But Can She Help Herself?

If you are a fan of watching train wrecks, then you might be a fan of the BET show, Frankie & Neffe. This pseudo reality show is based around the mother of famed r&b songstress, Keyshia Cole and her sister, Nefeteria(Neffe.)

The ghetto drama at times is really sad. Keyshia Coles was a beautiful child that was given away because her mother was drug addicted and at times prostituted herself. Frankie gave birth to seven children and raised none. Frankie was eventually incarcerated for many years but Keyshia and Neffe kept in contact. That was season 1 of the BET show “Keyshia Cole-The Way It Is.”
Season 2 embarked upon telling the story of Keyshia trying to reconnect with her mother and sister, while having a loving mother relationship with the woman who cared for her and raised her. Frankie, burdened with tons of guilt from her past, battles drug and alcohol addiction. That was Season 2.
So now you are caught up and mother Frankie and sister Neffe decide to go off on their own and have their own “reality show” if you will. What I find most tragic about this is that Keyshia and Neffe are far more mature than their mother Frankie. The antics, the wild dancing, multiple men, irresponsibility, you sometimes forget that Frankie is somebody’s (well alot of people’s) mother.
She recently appeared in Atlanta at the BET Hip Hop Awards. Check out her behavior on the red carpet.

Unbelievable, right? That’s someone’s mother acting like that. Sad…
