This book is about two boys who are best friends despite their different backgrounds. Set in Afghanistan, this book tells a gut-wrenching story with themes grounded in betrayal, familial relationships, class segregation, and the harsh realities of life. I just finished reading The Kite-Runner by Khaled Hosseini —an excellent book if you’re looking for a fast paced story that grips you from start to finish. I’m excited to read A Thousand Splendid Suns—Hosseini’s second novel. I began Blink by Malcolm Gladwell a few days ago, and I can honestly say I’m a little disappointed thus far.
