Kimbo Slice Loses in 14 Seconds to Replacement Petruzelli? Legitimacy in Question

Kimbo_214 seconds. That's all it took for fans to question if Kimbo Slice still has a career in MMA, losing to replacement Seth Petruzelli after Ken Shamrock was scratched from an afternoon training injury.

CBS/EliteXC took a gamble when they decided to showcase Kimbo Slice on primetime television. Kimbo was the Internet sensation famous for street and backyard brawls for several years. He was a legend in his own right. But what fascinated the curiosity of MMA fans was putting Kimbo in the octagon for real.

Losing in 14 seconds did not help him or CBS/EliteXC. In fact, the loss was a complete debacle. Kimbo was 3-0 going into the match against Seth Petruzelli. Petruzelli is no push over. He's younger (28) than Ken Shamrock (44) and had only 13 fights to his belt (9-4). The Silverback, a reality tv star from The Ultimate Fighter fame, took full advantage of it.

Four seconds into the fight, Kimbo didn't know what hit him. A right jab of all things sent him down. Kimbo fell forward and Petruzelli took care of the rest with countless right hands to the face with Kimbo on his back. 10 seconds later it was all over. The 14 second disaster was official.

Where does Kimbo go from here? Ask for a rematch with Petruzelli? Go into professional boxing? Whatever he does, Kimbo Slice is not the same feared fighter as he was set out to be. 14 seconds is all it took to put his MMA career in jeopardy.
