Three years ago, Amazon.com set out to design and build an entirely new class of device—a convenient, portable reading device with the ability to wirelessly download books, blogs, magazines, and newspapers. The result is Amazon Kindle. The Kindle Ebook reader has More than 90,000 books available - along with the Top U.S. newspapers including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post; top magazines including TIME, Atlantic Monthly, and Forbes—all auto-delivered wirelessly. Kindle's Revolutionary electronic-paper display provides a sharp, high-resolution screen that looks and reads like real paper. Most amazing is that it weighs only 10.3 ounces, less than the average paperback book.
Amazon announced today the availability of Kindle for PC. The small application (5MB) allows Kindle users to access Kindle books from the PC. On October 22 Microsoft demonstrated the application and announced that the application takes advantage of the touch features of Windows 7.
