Health scare for Kirsty Gallagher after pregnancy weight loss
SCOTS TV star Kirsty Gallacher has revealed how a health scare led to rapid weight loss following the birth of her baby son.
The presenter was left in agony and she had to undergo hospital tests weeks after Oscar was born.
Kirsty, 32, said an overactive thyroid was to blame but, looking back, she still finds the ordeal frightening.
She said: "I haven't really spoken about this before.
"I'd been breast-feeding and was losing weight really quickly.
"It was a bit scary and I was in agony, so I went for all these tests.
"Luckily, it went back to normal. But, for some people, the condition sticks and they have to take drugs."
Almost two years have passed since the drama, with Kirsty and her long-term partner, England rugby star Paul Sampson, due to mark Oscar's second birthday in December.
And the TV star, who hosts Gladiators on Sky One, said they were thinking about baby No2.
She added: "Oscar's a very over-active child and I don't know when is a good time for another baby.
"But you can't wait around forever and I'm knocking on."
Kirsty has regained her figure after her weight scare, through eating a balanced diet and now hopes to marry Paul, 30, even though he's yet to propose.
She said: "I would love it and it will happen."
