RE: Update regarding the death of KU student

This morning I informed you of the untimely death of Kutztown University student Kyle Quinn in the Borough of Kutztown during the early morning hours. We have additional information that we can share at this time.

The incident appeared to be a senseless isolated random act of violence, and clearly was a tragic situation. It reminds us that we must always be vigilant with our efforts regarding safety and security.

The district attorney's office reported that the suspects were apprehended at the scene of the crime. Three non-student individuals were arrested and are awaiting arraignment before District Justice Wally Scott in Reading.

Our campus police officers are aware of the offense and continue to be vigilant for any suspicious activities or persons.

Unfortunately crime can happen anytime, anywhere without warning. Should anyone have any information pertaining to this senseless act of violence, they are encouraged to contact the Berks County District Attorney's Office at 610-478-6000, or the Kutztown Borough Police at 610-683-3545.

Sincerely,

F. Javier Cevallos

President
