DETROIT (AP) — For a dozen years, Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick has routinely defeated all opponents in the Detroit-area congressional district she represents.

The mayor pleaded guilty to two counts of obstruction of justice. Kilpatrick will go to jail on October 28 and serve 120 days, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said.
