Her Biography
Kyla Pratt was born in California. Her first real acting experience came on a Friends episode, "The One Where Rachel Quits." She plays the little girl that Ross argues with in the Brown Bird meeting.
Disney Channel Projects/Film Career
Pratt has been involved in many Disney Channel projects, such as The Proud Family television show as the voice of Penny Proud, and was also in The Proud Family Movie as the same character's voice. Pratt also sang in the cover version of "Circle of Life" with the Disney Channel Circle of Stars.
As a movie actress, she was in the movie Dr. Dolittle and its two sequels, playing Maya Dolittle. In 1999, she won a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice award for "Favorite Rising Star." Pratt also starred in the role of Doris in the 2004 live-action film Fat Albert. Pratt starred as Amanda Beale in the Nickelodeon TV film Maniac Magee. She also played a young Monica in the movie Love and Basketball. Kyla was Monica when she was little and loved to act tomboyish, as a young Sanaa Lathan.
Commercials
She has done many commercials, including one for Nike where she played basketball. She also appeared in various WNBA commercials in which she was the lead of three girls and gives a lecture to various WNBA stars, including Cynthia Cooper. The commercial became such a buzz that she (and the other girls) appeared on The Rosie O'Donnell Show.
Other Projects
Pratt also starred in the UPN sitcom One On One as "Breanna Barnes" from September 2001 to April 2006. She also guest starred in an early episode of Veronica Mars, also on UPN. She starred in Dr. Dolittle 3 which was release straight to DVD on April 25, 2006. Other shows Pratt has guest-starred in include Lizzie McGuire, Smart Guy, Sister, Sister, Living Single, Moesha and The Parkers.
