Kyra Phillips will take over
Heidi Collins' timeslot at CNN, it was announced today. Apparently the network did not renew Collins' contract, and she will leave the network after 7 years there. Kyra will take over the two-hour morning slot on
CNN Newsroom.

A spokesperson for CNN said (via
MediaBistro.com): "After seven years of dedicated service to CNN, Heidi Collins will be leaving the network on January 15. We thank Heidi for her contributions to the network and wish her the best."
Collins started at CNN in 2002 as an anchor for Headline News. She was a reporter for stations in Colorado and Texas prior to that. There are no details about her future plans as of yet.
