Speaking of Obama, in recognition of June as LGBT Pride Month, the White House has issued a proclamation that can be found here . Oh yes, the proclamation has some wonderful words in it, but sadly words are all that LGBT Americans have yet to receive from the Obama administration. Rather than leading the charge for the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell - an issue close to my heart and which could double or triple the number of out LGBT citizens in this area - or pushing for the passage of ENDA... Those numbers are crazy high, and one reason why students, teachers and activists of every stripe are commemorating Ally Week .
The week, started by more than 4,000 students as a response to anti-LGBT bullying and harassment , is a project of GLSEN -- the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education... Read Full Story
