A community portal about Lamborghini Gallardo with blogs, videos, and photos. According to Wikipedia.org: The Lamborghini Gallardo is the Italian supercar maker Lamborghini's "entry-level" car, sitting beneath the Murcielago. It is also the first car to feature the new Lamborghini V10 engine - only the third engine designed by the firm. 3,000 Gallardos were built in just two years, making it the company's most-produced model to date. The second-place Diablo took a decade to sell 2,903 units.
Car of the Day - Lamborghini Gallardo Nera

Car of the Day - Lamborghini Gallardo Nera
Lamborghini chose to launch a new limited production special edition to showcase their new personalisation program “ad personam”; the “Gallardo Nera”. Interestingly, or ironically - to showcase the level of customisation available they released a car available only in two colors - or shades to be correct; .”Nero Serapis” and “Nero Noctis”.
Based on the standard 2007 model year Gallardo the Nera receives a unique two tone finish in gloss and matte black with much attention given to detailing. The matt texture paint is used on the side mirrors, rear spoiler, rear body panels, roof, top of front fenders, door sills and rear apron. The rest of the body panels are standard gloss black.
The Darth theme continues to the matt black “Callisto” design rims with the Lamborghini logo which frame the silver brake callipers also with Lamborghini logos. The only bit of white that can be found on the exterior is for the side indicator lenses, the tail lights have been darkened to match the look of the exterior.
The interior introduces more white with a “Nero Perseus” and “Bianco Polar” combination using the “bicolour sportive” design.
A “Branding Package” was available under the ad personam options and provided leather trim for the climate control operating panel, handbrake and gear lever console in addition to the inner door handles and seat side cushions.
The seats feature rhomboidal stitching in “Q-citura” pattern, which continues through to the Alcantara roof lining, door trims and the partition wall between the seats and the engine compartment. The decorative stitching is also found on the steering wheel, and the seats and mats receive white edge piping.
As is usually the case with special edition models the standard equipment includes items normally optional on the standard model, in this case; a navigation system, rear-view camera, on-board computer, alarm system, lifting system and a made-to-measure vehicle cover.
Optional equipment for the Nera included; e-gear automatic transmission, transparent panel for the engine cover, a Bluetooth-compatible radio and carbon-ceramic brakes - oh and of course anything your heart desires - under the “ad personam”.
Limited to 185 units and built between 2007 and 2008, the Nera retained 07 model year mechanicals and performance with the V10 - 4,961 cc engine delivering 382 kW (520 hp). 0 to 100 km/h comes in at 4.1 seconds, and top speed is 315 km/h.
Looking back retrospectively this is the car that started the Vader theme that continued with the Reventon and Reventon Roadster. A nice daily runner for those of you with the other two sitting in the garage.
