THE MILLENNIUM DOME/O2 AREANA, LONDON, UK

The Millennium Dome based Greenwich, South London was originally built as an exhibition centre to celebrate the beginning of the 3rd millennium. It was opened on the 1st January, 2000, and strangely enough closed it's doors to the public on the 31st December, due to finance problems with the lack of visitors it attracted. The original exhibition and complex were demolished, just leaving the distinguishing canopy and shell (the dome shape) to work with. ABANDONED CITY & ORADOUR IN FRANCE

A sad story lies beneath the remains of this sorry looking city. It all started during World War 2, when informants told German troops that one of their officers was being held hostage here. This turned into a massacre where disturbing events took place, such as children and women were taken to the church and burned alive. The men were shot in the legs and left to die in a barn. This is the Big Ben clock tower, that is famous worldwide for it's impeccable time. On new years eve i always watch Big Ben on TV, and watch the clock chime at midnight, and have done for years! It's become a tradition for Londoners and tourist travelling from afar to gather round the clock for the celebrations.
