• You can get a decent one for 550 dollars. Just look for any major brand with a dual core processor of 1. 86ghz or better and 2 gigs of ddr2 ram. The other things do not matter a lot as they are just details. All major brands use major brand parts inside. Vista really is not much different than xp, I have had both and went back to xp then back to vista - lol I can not really tell any difference. The control panel is the same. Some people did not like progress and the ones that only had 512mb ram - or 1 / 2 a gig said vista is slow. Ram is cheap now days and most new pcs have at least 2 gigs ram. Get one with 2 usb plugins as a lot of things use usb now
