Buzz surrounding Larry David's next film venture with HBO has been circling for months, and now we finally have some details on the project. The man behind the eccentric, cringe-worthy comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm has rounded up some of Hollywood's biggest names for Clear History, a movie about a marketing executive who loses out on a startup opportunity that develops into a massive success.
The film draws on a balanced number of actors from both the drama and comedy genres, including Jon Hamm, Danny McBride, Amy Ryan, Eva Mendes, Kate Hudson, Bill Hader, Michael Keaton, Philip Baker Hall, and Curb alum JB Smoove. Greg Mottola (Adventureland, Superbad) has signed on to direct.
David is responsible for the screenplay and will star in the film, which follows a former marketing manager at a start-up electric car company who has a falling out with his boss (Hamm) and subsequently loses out on millions once the company goes public. It then becomes a quest for revenge when Hamm moves to the East Coast island on which David has chosen to live in exile.
Hader plays a henchman of the local quarry owner (Hall). Hudson will play Hamm's trophy wife, Mcbride the best friend, Keaton the oddball quarry operator, Ryan the ex-girlfriend, and Mendes an island local who makes life complicated for David.
