Was it Larry Johnson or an impersonator? Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson says that the rap circulating on MySpace isnt him. Of course, he might get into some serious troubles with his manager, given that the rap includes swears and makes fun of the Kansas City Chief's General Manager Carl Peterson.
The song was recorded by a group called the SBL Mob.
Larry Johnson Slur Leads to Apology
The Chiefs’ Larry Johnson can’t seem to get himself out of a hole he dug for himself…in fact, the NFL running back is sinking deeper and deeper.
Already in some hot water for tweeting some very unflattering things about his coach, Todd Haley (see below), Johnson is in hot water once again for using a slur that refers to gays when telling reporters to leave him alone on Monday.
When reporters approached Johnson in the locker room, he reportedly told them, “I’m not talking till Thursday,” which is his usual day to speak to the media. He then whispered, “Get your f—-t ass out of here.”
He also used that same slur on Twitter. Nice.
The team has blocked Johnson from practice and from all other team-related activities while they try and sort through the damage.
In the meantime, Larry Johnson seems to have realized that his comments might have ticked off a few people and he’s issued the following apology through his agent:
“First of all, I want to apologize to the fans of the Kansas City Chiefs and the rest of the NFL, Commissioner Goodell, the Chiefs organization, Coach Todd Haley, his staff and my teammates for the words I used yesterday. I regret my actions. The words were used by me in frustration, and they were not appropriate. I did not intend to offend anyone, but that is no excuse for what I said.
“I also want to apologize to all the kids who view athletes as role models. I was not a good role model yesterday and hopefully I can become a better role model. We all make mistakes, and the challenge is to learn from them. I will do my best to learn from this one as I move toward becoming a better person, teammate and member of the Kansas City Chiefs team and community.”
