Larry Mendte is a co-anchor for KYW TV's Eyewitness News at 6 and 11 p.m. in Philadelphia. He is also a former Access Hollywood co-host. He's currently being investigated for allegedly searching through a former co-anchor's emails and distributing the information to media outlets. Because of this, he has temporarily been removed from his spot as a co-anchor.
Larry Mendte's Future
Larry Mendte made a mistake. Who hasn't?
If you believe the statement he made, and I do, he was defending himself and his family from someone who was trying to get him fired. In the same situation how many of us wouldn't take drastic action?
I think Larry Mendte was overcharged by the Feds, who shouldn't have even been involved with the case in the first place. He was also the victim on a tabloid Philadelphia press who treated him like Saddam Hussein.
He is far from a villain.
Larry Mendte has done more for the Philadelphia community and local charities in the last ten years than any TV personality. He was always generous with his money, his time and airtime.
Are we better off now that Larry Mendte is not on the air? No.
Larry Mendte is extremely talented. He will work again. I just hope it is in Philadelphia. He brought a passion and caring to the airwaves that is sorely missed.

I thought from the beginning that ths guy was railroaded. He was my favorite anchor and I would like to see him back on the air soon.
Since when does the FBI, who is supposed to be tracking terrorists and online child predators, care about an office fued? Apparently, when the US Attroney can get on TV and hold a news conference. Mendte did wrong, but it should never have been a federal case. Yes, give the guy a second chance and put him back on television. He is very, very good at what he does.
