Vegas: Based on a True Story will premier in Las Vegas' 2009 CineVegas Film Festival, on Thursday June 11th at 3pm, at Brenden Theatre #2. This film directed by Amir Naderi will promise to show a different side of Sin City's Las Vegas, Nevada. The film will portray a simple hard working family and the family's struggle with gambling and how the addition to gambling can destroy the people who fall prey to this tragic addition. I know from experience, as I have lived in the southern Nevada area for more than 25 yrs. As a cocktail waitress and later a waitress, I have seen friends and co-workers lose everything. The struggle to survive, often creates a relentless need to make money just to drop into a slot machine again and again until the money is all gone. Entire paychecks have gone toward casino profit. Nancy La Scala plays the role of "Tracy" a hardworking waitress living from paycheck to paycheck. I play the role of "Doris", a co-worker and friend to "Tracy". I am so proud of Amir Naderi for making this narrative film. It will definately go places! cathy leach
