Those are great names, but the FIRST DISCO ARTIST that crossed over into Pop Culture was MONTI ROCK III. He appeared on the TONIGHT SHOW with Johnny Carson in the very early seventies. He would come flying out, a flaming superstar, Queen of the stage along with these stereotypical Bimbos he called the Sex-o-lettes and start singing his hit song GET DANCIN.

Article By Blake Freedman / Staff Writer
MERIDETH BROOKS, LAS VEGAS DISC JOCKEY JOHN DOTE'
Merideth Brooks received heavy airplay on the hit televison series "Night Beat In Las Vegas" which was hosted by Las Vegas Disc Jockey John Dote' on UPN-SCREEN GEMS NETWORK. The video soundtrack titled "Bitch" was a huge hit throughout the country.

JOHN AND DANA DOTE' (TILL DEATH DO US APART)
June 7, 2008 proved to be the most exciting birthday for legendary record producer John Dote' who has recently returned to the San Francisco Bay Area after 6 years of living in Las Vegas. And why was his birthday so exciting you might ask? His proposal to his longtime bestfriend of over 24 years to Bay Area pop recording artist Dana Farber was answered with a, "Yes I WILL". Farber (right) and Dote' (left) go back several decades in the music industry. Their friendship has remained in tact and Farber is no stranger in the entertainment field. Her recordings have been charted all over the world and their colaboration of their hit single "Searching" recorded in the late 80's and written by Dote' is about to be re-recorded by this talented duo. In fact, the chorus lyrics as written reads "Someday, we've got to share the life we missed before" has come to a reality. After many years apart, this newly wed team have decided to spend the moments and years apart with deep emotions and compassion that they never shared before, that is until now.
Dote', who was born in the Bronx, New York-decided he met his match and soulmate, originally from San Francisco. The two originally met at a Foster City swimming pool. And summer was the perfect time of the season to meet. Their was an instant attraction and so much in common. They were meant for each other and their colaboration and talent in music does leave audience's standing on their feet. With all of those years of musical experience between them, they have now become a singing duo. And they are getting quite a response with their recent performances throughout the bay area.
Dote' is also no stranger to the recording industry. The theme from M*A*S*H, , Charlie's Angles and the theme from Jaws II were also influenced by his trade mark soundtrack of classic instrumentals. And the two have decided that it is time to live out their fantasies. MUSIC! While Larry King was a roomate in the Farber household during those days, Dote's mother was designing outfits for Sly and the family Stone. But it was during the 80's when Dote' was at the top of the musical forum. He was at the center stage. His name appeared on every television station, every newspaper and magazine cover and every major radio station. The two had a close friendship during this era and were seen in various bay area spots pulling up in a Rolls Royce. The Rolls was originally from the hit television series "Dynasty", which Dote' produced the theme song. Dote' had also produced "Searching" by Dana, but according to her, she got stiffed on her record. Dote' had deserted the project to promote Janet Jackson. When his career soared to the top, the two lost touch.

Las Vegas Disc Jockey John Dote' Promoted Santana "Smooth"
It was 10 years in the making before Las Vegas Disc Jockey, John Dote' of Celebrity Entertainment, hit the market with his own created television series titled "Night Beat In Las Vegas". The show was aired on the UPN-Screen Gems Network. Dote' also hosted the television show "This Is San Francisco" with Warner Bros. record executive Pete Marino, Jr. The show featured guest appearances by Liberace, Tony Bennet, Pearl Bailey and Rod Stewart.
The Bronx born Disc Jockey made his way through life in the record industry as a drummer, producer and musician. Living and making his mark in the San Francisco Bay Area, Dote's musical career spiraled with success when he produced the classic album "Hooked On Themes". The album contains the themes from some of the Biggest television shows of the world including Charlie's Angels, The Rockford Files and Hawaii Five-0.
It was during the late 60's that Dote's father gave Carlos Santana his first break, performing at The Boogaloo Club on Geneva Avenue in San Francisco, across from the famous Cow Palace where The Beatles performed. Since that period, Evil Ways had passed and Tell Her She's Lovely By El Chicano and Suavecito By Malo were riding the top of the charts with the Latin sounds of the 70's. But no other latin artist has ever accomplished what the 9 time grammy award winner has. Santana left a string of hits behind before the big one would arrive.
At the turn of the 21st century, Dote' was promoting video's for over 20 different major labels and many independant record companies as well. UPS was making their overnight deliveries of major hit releases to Celebrity Studio wher Dote' produced his show. Dote' would write reviews for the new releases and either pass or put his signiture of approval on them. 2000 was a year of celebration and new releases. Dote' was handling Britney Spears "Oop I Did It Again", Lee Ann Rimes "I Need You" and Santana "Smooth".
Dote' and Santana were both with Arista Records at this time. And although Dote' was also handling The Eurythmics new release of that year, there was only so much room at the top. After the release of Smooth, Santana's record sales soared 166%. The highest of any recording artist on the market today. And Dote' put his signiture of approval on Smooth! He was promoting the house mix version on his show which featured Rob Thomas on lead vocals. John Dote' who specialises in wedding receptions and corporate events in Las Vegas never does a party without Santana in the mix.
Santana Facts
He became famous in the late 1960s and early 1970s with his band, the Santana Blues Band, which created a highly successful blend of salsa, rock, blues, and jazz fusion. Their sound featured his often high-pitched and clean guitar lines set against Latin instrumentation such as timbales and congas. Santana continued to work in these forms over the following decades, and experienced a sudden resurgence of popularity and critical acclaim in the late 1990s. Over his career he has sold an estimated 80 million albums world wide.

Capitol Records strikes deal with Las Vegas Disc Jockey John Dote' / Hands Over Entire Catalogue / Las Vegas, NV. / By Laura Kerr / Legends of music staff writer
Bizarre and incredible is what Las Vegas Disc Jockey John Dote' describes his interview and their "live performance" at House Of Blues in Las Vegas with hot punk rap group Kotton Mouth Kings. Their single releases on Capitol Records titled "Dogs Life" and "Peace Not Greed" were just the beginning of their Las Vegas success, courtesy of the host of Night Beat In Las Vegas John Dote'. Dote' struck a deal with Capitol Records who turned over it's entire catalogue that included Merideth Brooks, Garth Brooks, Geri Halliwell (former Spice Girl), Robbie Williams, The Beatles, Lee Ann Rimes and The Kotton Mouth Kings.

Kottonmouth Kings (often referred to as KMK or the King Klick) are an indie rap group from Placentia, California. Formed in 1994, by Brad "Daddy X", under the name P-Town Ballas or simply PTB. The name of the group is derived from the effect of dryness of the mouth induced by cannabis use, often called "cottonmouth." They are a powerful force in the underground rap scene, with a particularly strong following in Southern California and the Western United States.

[edit] "Early Years" 1994-2000
Self-described "psychedelic hip-hop punk rock" outfit the Kottonmouth Kings emerged from Orange County, California in 1994. Comprising former Humble Gods frontman Brad Daddy X, rappers Saint Dog and D-Loc, DJ Bobby B, and "visual assassin" Pakelika, the group first attracted attention with the track "Suburban Life," which appeared on the soundtrack from the film Scream 2 and became a modern rock radio hit.[1] After issuing an EP, Stoners Reeking Havoc, on their own Suburban Noize label in early 1998, the Kottonmouth Kings released the full-length Royal Highness on Capitol that summer.[2] Hidden Stash followed a year later, and their fourth album, High Society pushed them into the mainstream.

[edit] 2001 and beyond
Kottonmouth Kings had gigs with D12 and Bionic Jive in fall of 2001[3], further promoting their mainstream success, just prior to the release of Hidden Stash II: The Kream of the Krop. A sixth studio album, Rollin' Stoned, which was produced by Brad X, appeared in October of 2002. The self-explanatory Classic Hits Live was released in 2003 while the band continued their expansion of the Suburban Noize record label, putting out DVD's and CD's by rappers and punk bands. Their 2004 release, Fire It Up, came out on April 20th, 2004, to coincide with cannabis culture holiday 420. The Kings returned in 2005 with their eleventh album, a self-titled record that featured like-minded guests such as Cypress Hill and Tech N9ne. The tour was postoned, however, due to rapper D-Loc sustaining a foot injury. Koast II Koast became the band's fourteenth album in June of 2006, while Hidden Stash III was released late in 2006.

[edit] Beliefs
The Kottonmouth Kings are supporters for the legalization of cannabis, and nearly all of their music is geared toward the subject matter of marijuana use, alcoholism, partying, and rebelling against political America. They also support a successful clothing line called SRH, started by Kevin Zinger, which can mean "Stoners Reeking Havoc" or "Supporting Radical Habits". They have a song of the same name, and use the phrases frequently in their media. On their website it states "KMK is an institution in our American subculture and will be passed on to future generations...it is a movement and a lifestyle..."[4]
