I have seen many people using pendrives or USB drives, suffering from viruses in their pendrives. One of the most poplular is AUTORUN.INF . What is autorun.inf ? AUTORUN.INF Viruses are virus that uses the Autorun feature of Windows to spread itself on computers. This virus makes a copy of the autorun.inf file to the root or main directory of all the drives on your PC, internal and / or external disks, to make the virus runs every time the external disks like pendrives or USB drives were inserted or every time you double-click the drives through the Windows Explorer. This virus has been widely spread these days and it has become very common that every pen drive we use will be infected by this virus. This Recycler virus / BV:AutoRun-G[Wrm] is very annoying one and even formatting the pen drive will not remove the virus. Though antivirus software is able to identify, it cannot remove the virus completely. If you delete this manually, it will again create itself and none of the virus removal tricks could work to resolve the problem. Download Flash Disinfector and save on some non windows drive. Double click on it and it will ask you to insert USB ... Read Full Story

Home » Computers , Featured , Headline , Virus Alerts 24 April 2009 2 views No Comment I had mentioned in a previous article about the spam being pushed out by the thousands thanks to its connection to the Waledac, well it would seem that Yahoo is a bit late in mentioning that news article or maybe not, depending on where you get your info from. Either way, I think the reason why this article was written, was that most “home” users don’t check out most computer magazine based websites and so this article can be considered a summary of whats been going on ... Home » Computers , Featured , Headline , Virus Alerts 28 May 2009 3 views No Comment In my last post about the Conficker Worm, it was well on its way if pushing out a lot of spam and I believe I have gotten quite a few from that little guy. Regardless if it came from Conficker or not I still deleted the emails and what not, however, Conficker is still going pretty strong at 50,000 computers a day and it would seem that India, US, Brazil are topping the charts in infections and in the heat map below you can check what countries ... Home » Computers , Featured , Headline , Virus Alerts 15 April 2009 1 views No Comment Its funny the moment I joined Twitter last week, Twitter gets slammed with their own worm, and the fool to advertise that he did it was 17-year old Michael “Mikeyy” Mooney. The worm is called StalkDaily or Mikeyy and as for what this worm does is spam tweets in affected twitter accounts. Luckily Mikeyy was smart enough to name brand himself on his worm and then fess up to it later that weekend. As for the reason he did this, “I was bored.” First off, you were ... Read Full Story

Does anyone know how to remove this unresolved threat? I have resolved all of the threats on my computer system except ADWARE SOFTOMATE. I have used Trend Micro full security scanner, and I have used a fully updated version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. I will be very grateful for any help with this. Thanks a lot...William Wilson

Antivirus software can't stop someone's identity from being stolenI was pleasantly surprised when I read that a judge refused TD Ameritrade's laughable settlement offer for the compromise of millions of accounts. TD Ameritrade's proposed settlement would have done nothing for the victims of the breach. I just wish the judge had indicated that he really understands something about computer security.
