Laura Robson has been shortlisted for the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award along with Tom Daley and Eleanor Simmonds. This year Robson won the junior girls' title at Wimbledon with only 14 years of age. The London teenager is the youngest player to win the tournament since Martina Hingis in 1994. Robson also made her debut on the senior tour, winning an ITF event in Sunderland and ending the year ranked 508th in the world. Laura Robson won her first professional title in her country at the ITF $10K Sunderland 2008. Robson, who is just 14 years old was the 5th seed and this was just the fifth tournament of her career.
