As I mentioned yesterday , I posed five questions to Ravens blogger Tony Lombardi from football24x7.com . Here are those questions, and his responses. Enjoy. 1). Given what the Cowboys and Steelers defenses did to the Browns, are you licking your chops? Not necessarily. The Browns beat the Ravens twice in ’07 and they’ve struggled to contain Braylon Edwards. If the Ravens don’t put pressure on a shaky Derek Anderson, Edwards and Kellen Winslow could be problematic for the Ravens secondary – a secondary that has struggled to stay healthy. The Browns defense is another story and they will see a different style of ... Read Full Story

It is hard to believe, but it appears that no less than seven teams are interested in the services of former Saints and Browns OL LeCharles Bentley, who asked for and got his release from the Browns two weeks ago. Bentley feels that he is healthy and can be a starter on a team this season, but it’s going to up to the team that he eventually signs with to figure that out. Adam Schefter of NFL Network put out a list of the seven teams, breaking down as follows: Buffalo - The Bills O-line was better in 07 than 06, but could use ... Read Full Story

His first season with the Cleveland Browns ended before it began. His second season was a lost, as he rehabilitated the injury to his knee and fought off a staph infection. Bentley, whom the Browns signed as a free agent in 2006, has missed the past two seasons following a torn patellar tendon in his knee and a subsequent staph infection that required additional surgery. This wasn’t the homecoming he had planned. Bentley, who played at Cleveland’s St. Ignatius High School and Ohio State, decided not to re-sign with the Saints for a chance to come home and play for the Browns. He signed ... Read Full Story

The New England Patriots currently have a 4-0 record - not surprising. What may be surprising is the manner in which they have won all 4 of their games. They have scored 148 points thus far - fourth-highest in team history while allowing only 48 - an average winning differential of 25 points a game. The Cleveland Browns has been somewhat of a surprise themselves - they’re 2-2 and just a game behind the 3-1 Pittsburgh Steelers - overachievers if you will. The Browns look to ride their momentum and stop the tornado that is the Patriots in Foxboro. The Browns have a surprisingly ... Read Full Story

Welcome to Cleveland football, another season, another failed rebuilding attempt. Not all has been a waste however, bright spots have formed with the development of Mohamed Massaquoi and Kaluka Maiava, the compiling of eleven draft picks, the addition of Jason Trusnik and Chansi Stuckey, and the unloading of Braylon Edwards. At over the halfway point in the season, the talks of next season have already started. Soon it will be the hiring...

It has been almost two months since wide receiver Braylon Edwards was traded from the Cleveland Browns to the New York Jets for linebacker Jason Trusnik, wide receiver Chansi Stuckey, and draft picks, but the best part of this deal is that it is looking like the Browns got the better end of the deal. Tursnik was almost immediately inserting into the starting lineup upon his arrival in Cleveland and has played admirably in the orange and brown...
