Things never usually end well when you mix alcohol and weapons. Such is the case for Sgt. Eric Janik, a Baltimore police officer who got scared and allegedly pulled his service weapon on a haunted house employee dressed as Leatherface over the weekend, and is now suspended without pay and probably going to get canned. House of Screams employee Michael Morrison said he was doing his normal Leatherface routine to get “one last scream” and ran out the back of the haunted house after Janik with a chainsaw — which had no chain and was harmless — which apparently scared the piss out of ... Could a Jigsaw vs. Leatherface movie be far away? Well, yes, probably. But such a beast now merits consideration if not discussion upon the news that Twisted Pictures, the producers of the Saw franchise, are about to scavenge the rights to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre away from Platinum Dunes. As expected, Twisted will likely run future Leatherface flicks through Lionsgate, giving that studio the potential for either two concurrent horror series or a replacement for Saw when that franchise comes to end, currently rumored to be after Saw IX . According to Variety , Platinum Dunes engaged rights holers Bob Kuhn and Kim Henkel ... Read Full Story

My hubby and I have been kicking ideas around for this year's Halloween costume and we decided on the dynamic duo of Stretch, the disc jockey from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and Leatherface. The decision was inspired by my husband's nine to five gig at a local deli, where he slices meat all day. TCM 2 is one of the films cited in Carol Clover's theory on the final girl and also features that unforgettable scene where Stretch keeps Leatherface at bay by doing a bump and grind with his saw. ("How good are you?") I need to freecycle for a non-working chainsaw (we ... Read Full Story

How can I have a soft spot in my heart for a mute murderer who kills humans like cattle, wears their faces, and eats them for dinner? Why don't I feel the same way about, say, Michael Myers or even Freddy? Leatherface - the original Leatherface, not the more farcical one in TCM 2 where he pseudo-humps Stretch with his chainsaw in beat-you-over-the-head-phallic-symbol way, although I do love that one too - is sympathetic in a way the others...

© New Line Although Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes production company has apparently given up on making another Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie, the franchise is far from dead. Leatherface, Freddy and Jason may be the new Frankenstein, Dracula and Wolfman, but I thought we at least had a few years before some idiot dug up the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise again. Are they really out of stuff to remake already? According to Variety Stephen Susco, Carl Mazzocone, Mark Burg and Oren Koules are even less talented than Brad Fuller, and are in talks to to resurrect Leatherface in 3D!
