Browns’ Leigh Bodden Arrested

Browns cornerback Leigh Bodden is, if you’re a casual fan, the best NFL player you’ve never heard of. He’s outstanding in pass coverage, the kind of defensive back who can completely shut down an opposing receiver.

But he might not be available to the Browns on Sunday. Bodden was arrested outside Cleveland Hopkins Airport today and charged with aggravated disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

According to police, Bodden parked his car in a restricted area at the airport, drove it the wrong way in a pick-up area, and got into an argument with police who asked him to move it.

This is one of those cases where it’s impossible for anyone who wasn’t there to know what to think. On the one hand, arresting a guy for parking in the wrong place seems over the top. On the other hand, airports will come to a standstill if everyone just feels free to park where ever they want.

So while it’s impossible to say what happened, it’s easy to say that if Bodden isn’t available to the Browns (the team says it will have a statement tomorrow), the Steelers’ passing game will have a much easier day on Sunday.
