Leon Powe will be watching the Celtics' run at the playoffs from the bench. Leon Powe will be riding the pine for the rest of the postseason after a knee injury he suffered on Monday evening. The forward suffered an ACL tear in his left knee -- a serious injury. He'll be sitting alongside Celtics' star Kevin Garnett, who has also been sidelined with knee problems. Boston Celtics forward Leon Powe has undergone successful surgery for a microfracture and torn ligaments in his left knee. The team announced that team physician Dr. Brian McKeon performed the surgery Tuesday morning at New England Baptist Hospital. No timetable has been set for Powe's return. The second-year forward tore his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in the first quarter of the Celtics 118-115 win in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series against the Chicago Bulls on April 20. Boston Celtics forward Leon Powe underwent successful left knee surgery on Tuesday but the team said an exact timetable for his return to the National Basketball Association playoffs is uncertain. Powe tore his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus on April 20 in the first quarter of Boston's 118-115 victory over Chicago in game two of their opening-round series, a playoff matchup the Celtics won in seven games.
